Warner Bros has announced that Nether Realm’s ultra-violent fighter Mortal Kombat X will be released worldwide on the 14th April, 2015, when it will be hitting PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
NetherRealm has also confirmed that legendary character Goro will be returning to the series as a pre-order bonus character. The four-armed half-man half-dragon Shokan warrior is famed for going undefeated for 500 years, cropping up in the original Mortal Kombat arcade game as a sub-boss.
With a fighting style revolving around brute strength, Goro can project fireballs from his mouth or hands and his last x-ray move saw him lift his opponent off the floor before crushing their skull with his hands. Tasty. At the moment he’s only part of the dreaded pre-order bonuses, although he’ll no-doubt crop up as paid-for DLC later down the line.
Unique to this latest Mortal Kombat is the three variations available for each fighter, allowing players to choose from a trio of unique fighting styles that impact brawl strategies. NetherRealm hasn’t revealed how Goro will play in his three variants, but we’re pretty intrigued for now. Still a little while to wait until that 14th April release date though, when Mortal Kombat X will be invading PC and consoles. In the mean time, feast your eyes on this Kano trailer that NetherRealm released a short while ago.
Is Goro enough for you to stump up for a Mortal Kombat X pre-order? Or are pre-order bonuses cause for a Fatality?
