Bladestorm: Nightmare is much better title for the next-gen re-release (Read Below).

Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War & Nightmare has had its title chopped down to the much more manageable Bladestorm: Nightmare.

Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War & Nightmare was announced in July and later confirmed for western release in early 2015.

In a press release, Tecmo Koei Europe (whom we’re supposed to call Koei Tecmo now but what we won’t do for Namco-Bandai-Bandai-Namco, we won’t do for anyone) said the PlayStation 3, PS4 and Xbox One title (the PS3 version will be digital only) will be playable hands-on at MCM London Expo from October 24 through 26.

It also seemed to have decided to stick with the one-time working title Bladestorm: Nightmare. Much snappier.

I had a go at Bladestorm: Nightmare at TGS 2014. The “Nightmare” part refers to the new content which features in the re-release – an original, non-historical scenario filled with fantasy creatures, where you can take control of multiple characters including Jeanne d’Arc and the Black Prince. It was pretty great, if you like Bladestorm.

If you’re not familiar with Bladestorm, it’s an unusual tactical game in which you control a single mercenary but can command a troop of soldiers. You can switch between troop types whenever you find one on the battlefield, and have to balance an extensive rock-paper-scissors style system of strengths and weaknesses.
