Assassin’s Creed: Victory is real, Ubisoft has confirmed, expressing its disappointment that its flagship franchise has leaked again.
Following the leak of Assassin’s Creed: Victory details today, Ubisoft has released a statement acknowledging the video is genuine.
“It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked,” the publisher told PC Gamer.
“And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public.”
So yes, it’s real, and yes, it’s being developed by Ubisoft Quebec for full release.
“The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date,” Ubisoft continued.
“In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players.”
At this stage it’s best not to take other details from the report as gospel – things like a lack of PS3 and Xbox 360 port, while pretty credible, are subject to change before the game’s projected northern autumn 2015 release.
Details for Dying Light’s Season Pass have been dropped by Techland.
It will include exclusive missions, original weapons and outfits, and new gameplay.
Here’s what it contains:
The first content contained in the Season Pass will arrive in February 2015 and will be included with the Dying Light Ultimate Edition.
Dying Light will be released in 2015 on January 27 in North America, January 28 in Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and January 30 in Europe.
The Season Pass will run you $19.99 and the game will be made available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
As reported in October, the game is no longer in development for PS3 or Xbox 360.
Adr1ft and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been confirmed as two of the dozen world premieres to air during The Game Awards 2014.
Adrift is a first-person experience, created by Adam Orth in the wake of his famous “deal with it” comments and subsequent departure from Microsoft. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a gosh darned video game I refuse to explain for rock dwellers.
A new teaser trailer for The Game Awards 2014 confirmed the inclusions. Viddy:
The three new games join Bloodborne, The Order: 1886, Metal Gear Online,King’s Quest and No Man’s Sky for announced projects showing off new footage or other material during the awards show.
There will also be some surprise announcements, although sadly we know Xboxand Bethesda won’t be behind them. I had such high hopes for a new Arkane announce, too.
Maybe at the PlayStation Experience? Both events will be held this Friday.
Thanks, Kotaku.
Another day, another Halo: The Master Chief Collection patch designed to fix endless, fruitless matchmaking queues.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been patched multiple times since launch and seems to be in much better shape, but some players still just can’t get into a match on a regular basis.
The latest patch is rolling out now and is, as usual, designed to fix matchmaking. Surely this has to be the one to fix it?
In addition to matchmaking the patch goes someway towards addressing team balance, but 343 said it has another patch coming next week specifically for that issue.
Here are the patch notes, direct from Halo Waypoint:
Isn’t this fun? We’re still waiting to hear how Microsoft and 343 intend to make this right for fans.
Thanks, Eurogamer.
FIFA is doing so well in the US, that it’s actually helping increase the popularity of the sport, according to EA.
According to data gathered by EA, those who play FIFA games are becoming fans of the professional sport in America, playing the game with an MLS club and much more.
The US is also the second best-selling country for FIFA 15, presumably behind the UK.

Star Citizen has rocketed past $63 million in crowdfunding.
The space sim reached the milestone recently, just two weeks after reaching the $61 million mark.
So much so, that there is currently nothing planned for this milestone, or any forthcoming ones.
One of the major new additions that all this money bought, was adding planetside exploration and first person combat.
Thanks, Kotaku.

The new patch is specifically for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The notes were revealed on the Ubisoft blog.

The Steam Exploration Sale has even more savings on offer on its second day. There are 1,875 sale items at time of writing, which is a heck of a lot to parse.
Steam is offering extra discounts to help you navigate the event through featured and daily deals. Here are today’s featured deals, which are available for two days:
And here are the daily deals, which are only available for one day:
These deals have been up for about three hours at time of writing, so be sure to get in quick before they expire tomorrow. Yesterday’s featured deals are still available if you search for them.
We’ll be slacking off over this weekend, so make sure you check the Steam front page in our absence to make sure you don’t miss a bargain. Another good tip is to add everything you want to your wishlist; Steam will email you if it goes on sale. Which is extremely likely.
Usually the best deals pop up on the final few days, so if a discount isn’t steep enough you can take a gamble on waiting.
Thanks, Steam.
