Pokkén Fighters Officially Announced by Nintendo (Check the Announcement Trailer)

The Pokémon Company has announced Pokkén Fighters, a 3D Tekken-style fighting game for Japanese arcades.

The title is being developed at Bandai Namco under the stoic gaze of Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada.

Capcom files lawsuit against Koei Tecmo (Read for more details).

Capcom is suing Koei Tecmo for patent infringement.

According to a report from Japanese publication Sankei (translated via Siliconera), Capcom claims that Koei Tecmo infringed upon a patent it filed back in 2002 that lets you gain new content by combining a new piece of software with an already existing game. Ostensibly this could refer to save data transferring or DLC that ends with the player acquiring new content in the parent game.

Zelda and Animal Crossing DLC arriving for Mario Kart 8.

Mario Kart 8 will be getting new DLC starting in November, but unlike the desperate Mercedes Benz add-on these actually fit into the Nintendo universe.

As spotted on Nintendo’s UK website, the two Nintendo-themed packs will each add two new cups (of four races each), four new carts and three new characters. So when all is said and done, it will increase the stage count by 50 per cent. Both add-ons will cost £7 each.

Debut Trailer for ‘Titan Souls’ released (Check it out).

Pretty much every game these days not aimed at children wants to compare itself to Dark Souls, because, well, Dark Souls is awesome. But few manage to actually capture the sense of palm-sweating dread and majestic wonder that catapulted From Software’s experimental action-RPG series into an industry mainstay. Titan Souls may do just that, if this early trailer is any indication.

Ubisoft’s ‘The Crew’ capped at 30FPS (Read on for more details).

Ubisoft may have promised last week that it was committed to improving performance of its games on PC, but that claim is likely to be greeted with some skepticism after it emerged yesterday that The Crew on PC would have its frame rate artificially capped for stability.

According to a Ubisoft community manager on the forum for the PC beta of The Crew, the game will run at 30FPS for its final release on PC. Whilst it will be possible to raise the frame rate cap to 60FPS manually, this may “affect the game’s performance”.

Wii U Game has seen large Pre-Order increase during Gamescom (Amazon UK Reports)

Amazon U.K. pre-orders of Nintendo Wii U games experienced the largest percentage increase during this year’s Gamescom conference, MCV reports.

According to the publication, Wii U game pre-orders rose by 8.67 percent during the European convention. Comparatively, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game pre-orders rose by 5.16 percent and 2.81 percent, respectively.

FBI Investigating Bomb Threats made to SOE President.

Malicious Internet activity targeting Sony has spilled over into meat space, and US federal authorities have responded.

LizardSquad, the group originally claiming credit for DDOS attacks against several gaming related services this weekend, seems to be targeting Sony specifically. It tweeted a bomb threat to American Airlines, grounding a plane on which Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley was due to travel.

Eerie early 20th century supernatural adventure The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is coming to PC on 25th September, developer The Astronauts has announced.

You can pre-order it now for £14.99 / $19.99 on Steam and GoG where the pre-order exclusive Special Edition comes with a digital soundtrack, “Making Of” documentary, a high-res poster, and a Red Creek Valley map.
